East & West Analytical Instruments, Inc. (EWAII) has successfully developed the GC-4400 Portable Photoionization Gas Chromatograph in its renowned R&D center, becoming the first domestic manufacturer to produce the portable photoionization gas chromatographs in China !
The GC-4400 Portable Photoionization Gas Chromatograph integrates the most advance technologies in the fields of spectroscopy, electric vacuum technology, precision mechanism, new materials, computer software, electronics, IC, and chromatographic analysis.
This product utilizes the longevous vacuum UV lamp, which heightens sensitivity, enhances sensitivity, and widens the range of linearity. Additionally, this product does not require the use of hydrogen gas, combustion supporting gas or chemical reagents. The GC-4400 can be used to analyze organic compounds and do trace analysis of inorganic compounds. Because of its high sensitivity, direct analysis is suitable in any environment, no thermal desorption equipment is necessary.
The development of this product was one of the key programs funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology this year. The GC-4400 is easy to use, quick in analysis with high sensitivity and a drastic improvement over traditional analytical techniques.
This product will be applied widely and effectively in a number of fields, such as, environmental protection and pollution monitoring, food quality and safety, national defense, anti-bioterrorism, aeronautics and astronautics, scientific research, as well as any other field that requires portable analysis of trace quantities of gas.

Checkable main compound
1ppb: ethylene oxide, chloroethylene, anodynon, benzene, toluene, dimethylbenzene, ethane, alkane (up to octane), methyl butane, ethane, propylene, butylenes, carrene and other sort of carrene, light quality chlorobenzene, sulfureted hydrogen, light quality alkyl sulfhydrate, organic sulfur (up to dimethyl disulfo), acetone, cymene ethide ketone, arsine, phosphine, acetaldehyde, aldehyde (up to acetaldehyde), etc.
50ppb: glycol, fluorochloromethane (Freon), carbimide, anodynon, anodynon, ketohexamethylene, crylic acid, light quality alcohol, etc.
The enumerative compounds are only part of the compound checkable by this instrument. In principle, all gas compounds of which ionization potential to be negative to 10.6eV is checkable.
